Porsche has officially confirmed and released photos of production version of the 918 Spyder Hybrid.
Porsche 918 Spyder is a concept at Geneva 2010, and now, Porsche has confirmed production plans for this supercar. Accordingly, the 918 Spyder will be produced in Zuffenhausen plant starting September 18, 2013 with a limited number of 918 units (right hand drive), price at € 645,000 ($ 913,578). The first car will be delivered to the customer about 2 months later.
The 918 Spyder is equipped with hybrid systems include a V8 petrol engine, capacity of more than 500 hp and two electric motors, capacity of 215 hp. Lithium-ion battery that allows it to run the distance of about 26 km and can be recharged using household electricity (in Germany, needed three hours to fully charge).
According to Porsche, the 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, top speed around 322 km/h. Fuel consumption averages about 2.5 liter /100 km and CO2 emission is 70 g/km.
Only customers purchased the 918 Spyder will have a chance to own a special edition of the 911. Called the Turbo 918 S Spyder Edition, the coupe will cost £ 125,865 and the Cabriolet will cost £ 133,553. The Turbo 918 S Spyder Edition will also have limited production quantity 918 units.
