2011 Geneva Motor Show: Toyota FT-86 II Concept

Two years after the Toyota FT-86 unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, the second generation of this sports concept unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show with plans for production in 2012.

FT-86 II share many common characteristics with the concept in 2009, including chassis, steering systems and much of the body structure as well as the car door. The rest are the changes to the second version adds add more personality.

First is the lighting system was redesigned. LED headlamp range extends further downward. Grille wider and deeper with the small wing. Tail, FT-86 II has a new wing, new taillights.

The second generation concept using more powerful gasoline engine combined with 6-speed manual box.

Both the engine and driving position of the FT-86 II will be pushed back out aft to optimize balance, flexibility and stability at high speeds. With front engine and rear drive system, FT-86 II is designed to increase strength but still easy to operate.
