GM to Stop Production for Lack of Spare Parts
GM announced on the website, starting March 21, Shreveport plant will production halt, all other plants in North America still function normally enough to meet the needs of customers.
GM must stopped production because of earthquake in Japan earlier than expected. Tracy Handler, an analyst at IHS Automotive said, could take 4 to 6 weeks for the supply chain from Japan back to normal.

According to Handler, "GM may soon suspend production in Shreveport to re-orient production". GM declined to say which parts are supplied from Japan are missing.
