Built and developed based on the MX-5, Mazda MX-5 GT (racing version) uses several measures to reduce weight. Many details are made of polycarbonate carbon fiber, thereby, the weight of the vehicle stopped just 850 kg (MX-5 weighs 1165 kg.)
Mazda said, the MX-5 GT has met the standards of the FIA such as fire extinguishers, alloy wheels, while the gearbox and engine upgrades to enhance performance of the car on the track.
MX-5 GT uses 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, capacity of 275 hp combined with a 6-speed sequential gearbox, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds, top speed around 258 km/h.
Under the plan, Mazda MX-5 GT will join 2011 Britcar MSA British Endurance in England later this month.
