Mercedes-Benz is set to extend its line-up of dedicated SUVs with a new BMW X6-rivalling model called the GLS.
According to Autocar, the model will be launched in 2014. It will reportedly be based on the third-generation M-Class and feature CLS-inspired styling and a four-seat interior.
Further details are scarce, but engine options are expected to include a 3.0-liter V6 diesel, a 3.5-liter V6 petrol and a 4.6-liter V8 petrol engine. We can also expect a hybrid and a GLS 63 AMG with a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine, capacity of 518 hp and 700 Nm of torque.
