The 2012 BMW M5 is equipped by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, capacity of 560 hp at 6,000-7,000 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. It is paired to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission that enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, from 0-200 km/h in 13 seconds and reached a top speed of 250 km/h. Besides, the M5 can reach a top speed of 305km/h with the optional M Driver’s package.
BMW said, the car is relatively frugal as it has an average fuel consumption of 9.9-liter/100 km and CO2 emissions of 232 g/km.
The new M5 is equipped with an M-specific suspension, high-performance compound brakes, an M-specific Servotronic steering system and the M Drive system that allows drivers to store two driving modes with pre-programmed parameters.
On the exterior, the new M5’s looks are rather subtle with the most notable features including an aggressive front fascia, the beefier front and rear bumpers, adaptive xenon headlights, side air vents, a four-tailpipe exhaust system and 19-inch alloy wheels.
As expected, the 2012 BMW M5 will officially launch at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
