BMW Unveiled the NEV 5-Series in Shanghai

Speaking at a news conference in Munich, CEO Norbert Reithofer confirmed, the NEV (New Energy Vehicle) 5-Series will be produced in China and "bring the strength and reputation of the BMW brand."

Currently, BMW has not released information about the engine of the NEV. Reithofer also said the production version of Mini Coupe debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and the second generation BMW 1-Series. German carmakers also are developing a 3-cylinders engine with TwinPower Turbo technology.

Beside the NEV 5-Series, BMW also showcases the 6-Series Convertible and Coupe along with the new M5 at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show.
