Jaguar Developed New V6 Engine

According to Car and Driver, all-new V6 engine of the Jaguar brand is being developed and will be equipped for the XF 202 and probably in the XJ as well. Jaguar intends to build a new factory in the UK and  and this might represent the ideal circumstances in order to start making the new engine. The new V6 engine is equipped for the 2012 Jaguar XF will most likely to be present in the U.S. market.

This year, Jaguar introduced the XJ at the Shanghai Auto Show, it is equipped with 3.0-liter V6 engine, capacity of 237 horsepower, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and top speed of 233 km/h.


Some people believe that the new engine will be available on the market in 2013 or 2014 and capacity up to about 300 horsepower to be able to become competitors with the engine of BMW, Mercedes Benz or Audi. In addition, this engine will be equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission.

At this moment, on the US market, Jaguar only offers a 5.0-liter V8 engine, capacity from 385 horsepower to 510 horsepower. For the European market, this brand offers more engines such as a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel and a 3.0 liter V6 engine of Ford.
