BMW has unveiled the i3 and i8 concepts in Frankfurt.
The i3 is a pure electric vehicle with zero emissions. Power comes from an electric motor with 170 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The 1250 kg concept accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 150 km/h. The range of 150 kilometers and charging takes approximately six hours.
While the i8 is a plug-in hybrid. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor with a combined output of 353 hp and 406 Nm of torque. The 1480 kg concept accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h. The i8 can travel 35 km on electricity alone and boasts fuel consumption of 2.7-liter per 100 km. CO2 emissions of 66 g/km.
