Kia has announced pricing of the 2012 Kia Rio hatchback in the U.S.
Accordingly, the manual gearbox model has a starting price of $13,600 (not including a $750 destination) and $15,450 for the automatic transmission model, while the range-topping SX trim will set you back $18,750.
Offered in three trim levels (LX, EX and SX), the 2012 Rio features a direct-injected 1.6-liter GDI 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 138 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque. It is linked with a 6-speed manual gearbox (LX only) or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car returns 30mpg city and 40 mpg highway.
Standard equipment includes air conditioning, electric power steering, an audio system with USB and SiriusXM satellite radio, plus several safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).
