After the SLS AMG unveiled, fans has rumored that German automaker has been working on a baby version of the supercar. And now, according to latest information from the British media, the baby SLS AMG has received an official codename, as evidence for the first step in the development process.
Known internally as the Mercedes-Benz SLC, the new model will be launched in 2014. The selling price is expected for the SLC about £ 75,000 (US$ 121,340).
Mercedes-Benz’s AMG department will be responsible for technical design, development and testing for the baby SLS AMG.
According to some sources, the SLC will be equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 engine of AMG, capacity of 420 hp. If this information is accurate, that’s 149 hp less than the SLS AMG (the 6.3-liter V8 engine, naturally aspirated).
When present in the market, Mercedes-Benz SLC will become formidable opponents of the Porsche 911.
