The car features a new front bumper, bespoke alloy wheels, blacked-out headlights and taillights, darkened rear and tailgate windows and glossy black finish on the grille and mirror caps, special interior trim and plenty of "35" badging.
Under the hood, power comes from a revised 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine that develops 235 hp instead of the usual 210 hp. The increase capacity should improve the hot hatch’s performance, however Volkswagen has not yet revealed any official figures, simply that the car will be more fun to drive.
The company will begin accepting pre-orders on May 12th and pricing starts at €30,425 in Germany.
