GM, Ford and Chrysler saw healthy gains of 11%, 14% and 30%, while upstart Kia was up 41% over the same period last year. All 4 brands were bolstered by new products selling briskly despite generally low incentive spending.
Nissan has begun to rebound, up 11.4%, while Toyota and Honda have not been able to recover, both down more than 24%.
