According to a report from Autocar, the Subaru BRZ will be significantly more powerful than the Toyota FT-86.

Accordingly, the Subaru BRZ will have a 2.0-liter Boxer engine, with a unique ECU, that develops "less than 300 hp," compared with the FT-86’s 200 hp figure.

The magazine also said that Subaru is considering a BRZ roadster but the car is ‘under consideration’ rather than developmental reality.
