Hyundai has finally introduced the new Eon city car in India.

Designed at the Namyang R&D center in South Korea and features the company’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design language, the five-seat model is 3,495 mm long, 1,500 mm tall, 1,550 mm wide and with wheelbase length of 2,380 mm, which means is slightly more compact than the i10 hatchback available in Europe (3,585 mm long).

Power comes from a 0.8-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine with 56 hp and 74.5 Nm of torque, mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox. The engine returns an average fuel consumption of 21.1 km/liter which is equivalent to 49.7 mpg or 4.7-liter/100km.

In India, the new Eon will compete directly with the best-selling vehicle in the country, the Maruti-Suzuki Alto.

The Hyundai Eon has a starting price of $5,515.
