Chevrolet announced that it will produce an all-electric version of the Spark in the U.S.
Based on the Beat EV concept, the model features a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery powering a 61 hp electric motor. The estimated range is 130 km (81 miles) and it can be fully recharged in 8 hours by using a 240V outlet.
The Chevrolet Spark EV will be launched in late 2012 as a 2013 model.
