Hennessey’s 1,200HP Venom GT headed for Pebble Beach

Hennessey Performance has announced plans to stage the U.S. debut of its Venom GT tomorrow, on August 17, at the McCall Motorworks Revival during the Pebble Beach festival.

The Venom GT is based on the Lotus Elise and features a twin-turbo 6.2-liter V8 engine with 1,200 hp and 1,564 Nm of torque, along with a 6-speed Ricardo manual gearbox which enables the 2,685 lb (1,220 kg) car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reached a top speed of 443 km/h.

Only 5 cars will be hand-crafted over a period of six months each year and pricing starts at $950,000.
