Audi has announced to recall about 920 of the R8 Spyders from the 2011-12 model years due to a design defect that could lead to a fuel leak.

All R8 Spyders produced between May 18, 2010 and June 22, 2011 will be recalled. According to the NHTSA, the R8 Spyder's fuel supply line may contact and rub against the heat shield in the engine compartment, which could lead to a small fuel leak.

The official recall is expected to begin on August 22. Dealers will remedy the situation by inspecting the vehicle’s fuel line and if necessary replaced free of charge.
