According to GM, production of the Cadillac ATS will begin next summer and built at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant. The company added that the plant received a $190 million investment and 600 jobs for the new ATS. The car is expected to feature a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as well as a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 380 hp.
After launched, the ATS will compete with the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class as well as the Lexus IS range.
GM's North American President Mark Reuss said "We have extensively and exhaustively studied the competitive segment, and we have benchmarked the best. And when this car comes out, that will be readily apparent."
