According to Manager Magazin, Volkswagen has a far deeper interest in Opel than originally thought.

The financial magazine said Volkswagen gave GM a rough estimate to pay for Opel after the German company heard rumors about Hyundai is also interested in Opel.

However, the magazine also said that GM does not accept, because the offer of Volkswagen is too low. Dow Jones came in contact with a Volkswagen spokesman, but he declined to comment on the matter.

Opel's representative said: “Opel has been a part of the GM family since 1928 and remains important for the company”.
